Dashboard

One of the problems people have with managing media libraries is not knowing what they have.  The "Dashboard" project aims to be a start pagefor Songbird users.  Some sort of tabbed view as a homepage on startup that presents 3 views:

• My Library
• The Web
• My Friends (via supported social networks)

The Library pane would contain suggestions for music to be played from the user's personal library:

• Music I've played recently
• Music I've added recently
• Music I haven't played recently
• Most popular tracks (play-count &/| rating)
  
• Least popular tracks (play-count &/| rating)
• Hottest music (EchoNest get_hottness() call)

The Web

• Music recommendation engines
• Last.fm radio
• SHOUTcast stations
• Hype Machine

My Friends

• Facebook "what am i listening to" apps
• Last.fm friends/neighbours

Presentation should be visually appealing, not just a list of tracks of playlists.  Incorporate artist artwork or album art.. maybe genre artwork like in iTunes?
