KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES IN 1.4.0B2 TO FIX FOR 1.4.0 FINAL
CD Rip
- All tracks from a CD are immediately copied to the main Songbird library when the user initiates a Start Rip operation. (
bug 17851) - Metadata properties not explicitly created during the ripping process are not populated to the main library until the ripped files are rescanned. (
bug 17852) - Duplicate tracks are added to the main Songbird library when Watch Folders is enabled and tracks are ripped to the watched folder. (
bug 17904) - Some CD metadata lookups may fail to return data even when the remote database has valid data for that CD. (bug 17912)
- Partially-ripped tracks will sync to devices that are plugged in and set to auto-sync while CDs are being ripped. This may also cause tracks on CDs to rip multiple times. Users should rip CDs entirely before plugging in their devices to sync them. (
bug 17919, bug 17920) - Songbird will display an error dialog when a user launches Songbird through the Windows Auto Play dialog. The error is "Songbird cannot rip your audio CD." This is not true; Songbird can rip your CD. The error is incorrect. (
bug 17921) - The CD Lookup results window does not automatically close when the CD is ejected. (
bug 17933) - The View Metadata option on the CD Rip service pane's contextual menu will not open the metadata editor. (
bug 17935) - Tracks containing metadata with characters outside the standard Latin-1 set may result in mangled filenames. (
bug 17941) - The Multiple CD Records Found window does not close when the X in the upper right-hand corner is clicked. (
bug 17946) - The progress indicator may appear on the wrong track in the CD Rip view when a rip operation was previously performed on a different track of the same CD, and the CD Rip icon in the service pane may not animate. (
bug 17947, bug 17949) - Data CDs and mounted ISO images will appear as CDs in Songbird. (
bug 17982) - Ripped tracks will overwrite existing tracks on the filesystem if the name of the two tracks are the same. (
bug 17991) - The Stop Rip button only stops the rip of the current track. (
bug 17993) - A manual CD eject may not be recognized. Users will have to return to Songbird and click the Eject CD button. (
bug 18032) - Changes to the bit rate value in the CD Rip preferences may not persist. (
bug 18043)
MSC: Firmware Updates
- The Vista UAC window will display every time the user clicks on the device node. This should only happen when the user attempts to update the device's firmware. (
bug 17894) - The Remind Me Later button for firmware update notifications does not trigger a reminder. (
bug 17925) - Device-specific instructions are not displayed in the firmware reset dialog. (
bug 17929) - The Eject button should be disabled when devices are in Recovery mode. (
bug 17948)
MSC: Miscellaneous
- The "Add to Library" option in the right-click menu for tracks on MSC devices will not copy those track files to the main Songbird library unless the user also has Manage Files enabled. (
bug 17159) - A status message stating "1 of 1 items completed" is displayed after removing all items from a device. (
bug 17196) - Drag and drop of VBR WMA files to a device that supports WMA will sometimes cause Songbird to attempt to transcode those files. Going through this process may break drag and drop application-wide until application restart, and it may also prevent users from importing new items to their library until application restart. (
bug 17217, bug 17492) - Choosing the "Ignore Device" option from a device's contextual menu may result in a bad title heading on the media tab. (
bug 17891) - Devices set to automatically sync upon mount may not sync automatically. (
bug 18022)
MTP
- Songbird will sometimes indicate that unsupported files were copied to a device as-is. (
bug 16452, bug 17136, bug 17828) - Clicking the Cancel button during a transfer may not cancel the transfer. (
bug 17891) - Localized strings are missing on one of the error dialogs that can appear after a failed MTP sync attempt. (
bug 17896)
Other
- Certain sets of files are not fully imported when copied directly to Songbird's watch folder. (
bug 17072) - Deleting tracks from the Songbird library when Manage Files is enabled will delete the tracks from the user's hard drive without offering the user a way to opt-out of file deletion. (
bug 17272) - Changes to some metadata fields made to AAC files in Songbird are not exported to iTunes. (
bug 17576) - The iTunes agent cannot be killed by the Windows uninstaller when installed through a nightly build or a distribution build. (
bug 17875)
