0.3 RC2 Release Notes

This is our second candidate build toward our goal to release Songbird 0.3 as Final later this month. We are asking our dedicated open source community to help test and use this build over the next week. Come be part of Songbird history!

PLEASE NOTE: Some Mac stability seen in our 0.2.5 release was lost due to a major XULRunner update in our application.

API/UI UPDATES
The following API and UI updates/changes have been completed since our last blessed build on 10.12.2007:

APIs

• Created events to notify when download is completed (4767)
• ID changes to improve compatibility with Firefox add-ons (5035)
• Revised GUIDs in sbIPlaylistCommands (5056)
• An 'MP3 Blogs' extension is now available (5144)
• Songbird now notifies of shutdown requests before quitting (5260)

UI

• [Mac] Preferences window improperly sized (1208)
• Resurrect device selection dropdown in the USB preference pane (4133)
• Put a "Report Bug" button in the Control Pane to the right of the faceplate (4826)
• Updated the general look of all dialog elements (4888)
• [Linux] OK and Cancel buttons hidden in first run dialog (4911)
• Dogpile removed from search engines (5043)
• [Win] Resizing can make the window vanish (5053)
• Changedupdated service pane context menus (5077)
• No longer pop media scan dialog after library importer has run (5137)
