0.3 Release Notes

Have to toast, drink a beer! Woo--hoo, Songbird 0.3 is here! Congrats on downloading our 0.3 release. Below are some caveats to keep in mind. Enjoy!

NOTICE TO CURRENT (0.2.5 and older) USERS
Songbird 0.3 requires a new library format and profiles. As such, you won't be able to migrate your old 0.2.5 libraries and profiles to your new Songbird 0.3 installation. It is possible to install both Songbird 0.2.5 and 0.3 side-by-side to allow you to continue to access your old libraries and profiles while you setup your new Songbird 0.3 installation.Please see the following document for more information on how to do this, and for links to download prior Songbird 0.2.5 binaries for your system: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Docs/Songbird_0.2.5_to_0.3_Migration

NOTICE TO MAC USERS
Some Mac stability seen in our 0.2.5 release was lost due to a major XULRunner update in our application. Stay tuned for improvements in future releases.

• 'Edit' menu items not hooked up (2116)
• Sort selection not retained (4516)
• Index column width can be shrunk to cut off index values (4571)
• Scan for Media window does not close if target directory empty (4605)
• Clicking out of 'Subscribe' dialog Hangs songbird (intermittent) (4839)
• Misc memory leaks (4918)
• Media scan doesn't find files in a folder with "." in the folder name (4965)
• Audioscrobbler add-on not updated to support this release (5193)
• File names in "title" column don't display non-ASCII characters correctly (5284)
• When Repeat All and Shuffle are set on and you start up Songbird clicking play does not pick random song. (5257)
• Unicode metadata from ogg files not read properly. (5268)
• iPod extension does not support latest generation iPods (5287)
• "Open a File..." does not always start playback(5354)
• Need to change the HTTP accept-language tag to match locale (5437)
• Choosing "Copy Location" in Web Media History content menuthrows error - NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER (5459)
• Playlistplayback may overwrite wrong track on metadata update (5509)
• Content-Disposition filename header must be quoted (5416)

Windows

• Cannot Right Click while using Songbird to view a website (2244)
• Intermittent Runtime error when doing metascan (5073)
• Crash in playcounts_init with iPod (seen on Vista only) (5293)

Linux

• No way to have system-wide install (can only install to a single user)(3679)
• Service pane context menu requires right click + hold (4584)
• Resizing main app window is sluggish/jumps around (5276)
• [Mac/Linux] Resizing Songbird can make it disappear/display weird (5286)

MacOSX

• AppleKey + Q Doesn't always Quit (4845)

• "Cheezy Video Window" cannot be hidden or resized (4706)
