Litmus Quick Reference Guide

Songbird's Litmus installation is located at http://litmus.songbirdnest.com.

Help with common Litmus functions:

Find a single test to run or edit.

If you know the Testcase ID# of the test, enter it in the box on the lower right-hand side of the Litmus footer.

Find a group of tests to review.

Tests in Litmus are organized by Testgroup and Subgroup, but you can also search by string.

Click the "view/search tests" link on the left-hand side of the page to expose the search interface.

Easiest: Use the filters.

Regardless of your search method, you'll get a list of matching tests at the bottom of the page.  The easiest way to view all these tests on a single page is to click the "print all testcases" link at the top of the list.

Find a group of tests to run.

If you need to run a group of tests, they should be in a Test Run within Litmus.  Available Test Runs are the first thing you will see upon logging in.  You can also access the list of Test Runs by clicking the "run tests" link on the left-hand side of the page.

Click on the Test Run that contains the tests you need to run, then populate the drop-downs with build and platform information.

See the results for a single test.

Use the Testcase ID field at the lower-right portion of the screen to pull up a single test.  All available results for that test will be displayed at the bottom of the test's detail page.  Click on the individual Test Result ID links to view details of each test execution.

See the results for a group of tests.

Use the options in the "reporting" box on the left-hand side of the page to view results.

The "search results" and "advanced search" links both provide forms that will allow you to pull a table of test results based on a variety of different parameters.  It does not provide any roll-up data such as percentage passed, number of tests found, etc.

The "testdays" option will pull a set of results based on a pre-configured time period in which the tests were executed.  There is also a more flexible form available for entering a custom date range and pruning results by testgroup and subgroup.
