Get Started in Songbird QA!

We are putting out a "Chirp!" to the opensource community to join us in our continued goal to ensure high quality Songbird product releases.  Here are the areas where you can engage both developers and other community members :

• Write up problems you experience with the Bird!
  • Create an account on the Songbird Bug Database Bugzilla
  • Write a detailed bug with our New Bug Template. Ensure that we receive all the information up front to move your bug through the review/fix process quickly.
• Ask questions of the rest of the Songbird community!
  • Create an account on GetSatisfaction
  • Ask questions about anything related to Songbird, and get quick answers from both the community and us.

Be sure to look around and make sure that you're not duplicating someone else's report, though! We have an FAQ page, which is linked to our GetSatisfaction community. Checking there and on Bugzilla before posting is a good idea; frequently someone else has experienced the same issue, and someone else has helped them find a solution! ^_^

  • Writing a Good Bug - It is critical that you read this before submitting a bug report, which should be based on this template.
  • Bug organization - information about how to use the drop-down menus and other fields on a bug report, and what is useful for us.
  • Common Duplicates (hot-dup) - Lists the most current Known Issues to assist on keeping the duplicate bug reporting at a minimum.
  • Locate Crash Reporter User ID - This page describes how to locate crash IDs and include that number in your bug report.
