Locating Crash Reporter

Crashes of the Songbird application may generate Crash Reports.  If you choose to send them, we'll receive them.  However, we may also ask you to find the copy of the Crash Report stored on your machine and tell us its ID number so that we can link your specific problem to your crash.  Here's how to find those reports:

Windows XP

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\<your-username>\Application Data\Songbird2\Crash Reports.  Application Data is a hidden folder.  If you can't see the folder, the easiest way to get there is to type the location into an Explorer window.

Windows Vista

Navigate to C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Local\Songbird2\Crash Reports.  Local is a hidden folder.  If you can't see the folder, the easiest way to get there is to type the location into an Explorer window.

Linux

Navigate to ~/.songbird2/Crash Reports.

All Platforms

The individual Crash Reports live in a directory named "submitted".  The value we're interested in is the name of the file(s) within that directory.  They're long and ugly and don't make much sense.  If you'd like to see the report that we're seeing, open one of those files in Notepad and visit the URL on the second line!
